I recently installed a new FIPL. I referred back to my notes that were submitted by a member (Technical Bulletin #186A). I attempted to adjust with no luck.
First of all, the bulletin states "wire A is the reference voltage (orange/white) from the computer. (5 volts) My wire C is the reference voltage and it is brown/white.
Next, it refers to wire B (the middle wire) as the ground path. My B terminal is the throttle opening signal and is Gray/white.
I went ahead and attempted to set the range of the FIPL at 1.2 to 4.5 volts. The highest I could set is 4.1 with the idle end at 1.5. Thinking I would never go to wide open throttle, I went ahead and set the idle at 1.2 volts (according to the bulletin) which gives me a WOT setting of 3.6. Whatever I tried, I was unable to get a sweep of 1.2 to 4.5. I don't know which number is more important. I initially tried 1.5-4.1 and it shifted poorly. I haven't tried driving 1.2-3.6. I don't know what to do. I tested the switch out of the truck and it has the capability of going way past 4.5. Am I just not getting WOT?
Your help would be appreciated
Tom
No problem with voltage. I have 5 volts reference voltage. I was able to find reference to it on this forum so I will continue with adjustments their way.
