we dont use those to test batteries either. We have a tool made by midtronics that works very well along with a bettery charger that has a charge and test function. both tools are pretty accurate about the batteries ability's. A volt meter will pretty well do the rest.

I was going to post that Moe. I inserted a mosfet isolator in between the alternator and the four batteries. The alternator goes to the isolator input and two batteries come of of one output terminal and the other two come off of the other output terminal. I had the sensing wire in a couple of diffeerent spots before I ended up where I am at. I'll have to think it over.

In the mean time, the pics of my system are below:

just a guess but I would guess your change has to do with the isolator and or the change in b+ value that the pcm is using
