Where do you guys tie into for your flatbed running lights? I have 8 clearance lights, 2 on each corner, and a 3 bulb ID in the back.
Do you just tie into the tail light wires? The stock park light wires look like they are about 16 gauge. Was thinking I could maybe just wire 1/2 to each side to spread the load out on the wires. They are single bulb style and the ID is an led so the load shouldn't be to bad.
Currently they are just tied into the trailer wire since I'm not towing atm. Seems to do ok, so I would assume the tail light wires would be ok with only 4 running on each.
Also, whats the wiring for the 7 blade trailer plug? I got 7 wires that the previous owner cut.
You should be ok with your wiring plans, especially since you said you are going to use led's. I don't know about the later trucks, but the early ones(80 thru mid 90's) had trouble with overloading the running light wiring at the headlight switch. Maybe they fixed that on the later trucks.
