Trailer Light Problem

Quick question, was getting the boat ready for spring and no lights at all. Hooked it up to my dad's vehicle and everything worked. The problem is in my 95 F150. Any tips on where to start checking? All of the lights work on the truck it self and everything. Thanks for your time

Need more information.
Does the truck have the factory tow package?
If not are the wires just spliced into the wires on the back of the truck?
Or how is it wired?

I bought the truck used and it did not come with the tow package. I added the hitch and installed the recepticle for the plug that goes to the four pin wire from the boat. This came with the truck. The recepticle has two cords coming out of it that attach to the trucks wiring. These are grey plugs that simply attach together.

Most likely the wires just splice into your tail light wiring. I take it you to do not have a brake controller on this truck.
You should have four wires, Yellow (Left Turn), Green (Right Turn), Black or White (ground) and Brown (marker lights or running).

Follow these wires until they splice into the trucks wiring you will find a saddle clamp or some black tape.

You will just have to redo the splice and re-tape the wire for the item that is not working.

Sounds like this is a "T-Connector". This is a connection at the rear of the truck, correct? If it is a t-connector, buy a 12v test light and follow Subfords advice on testing(white is ground) wires except the splicing part. T-connectors are made to install on your truck w/ no splicing. Here's a good site...

Also, newer vehicles have seperate fuses for trailer lights, don't know 'bout the '95.

Only trucks with the towing package wiring, and only owners that are using this wiring have to worry about seperate towing fuses up front.

Another thing you might want to check is to make sure that the black or white wire is hooked to a good ground. If all the lights dont work like you stated before, I would look twards the ground failing before 3 other connections failing at the same time. Sometimes it is never hooked up and poeple rely on the hitch to connect the two frame grounds together, but I would not recommend that.
