Does anyone know if anyone makes a replacement for the stock instrument cluster surround? I have a F100 XLT with the faux "wood" trim and A/C. I want to leave the factory instrument cluster itself in, but the plastic surround on mine was messed up by the previous owner when he installed a CD player. The bottom right corner of the plastic surround where the cd player is mounted is not staying put--it keeps shifting out about half an inch or more, and it vibrates quite a bit while I drive, sometimes moving out as much as 3/4 an inch. I'm just waiting for it to break and the CD player to flop out. The previous owner cut a rectangle out of the plastic surround where the 8-track used to be and did a moderately okay job of installing the CD player (looks like it was dremeled out and the CD player is just wedged into the hole), but whatever held the corner of the plastic surround in place is obviously not there. I'd like to replace it with some kind of metal surround if possible...anyone got any ideas?
I know I can get a replacement plastic one from a junkyard or I can order one from LMC...
They're pretty easy to find. I see them in the junkyard quite often but usually those are cut up too. eBay almost always has some decent ones; and of course LMC and the rest all carry reproductions.
