97 XLT (stock clarion 6 disc cd changer from the "premium sound" system)
The cd cartridge is stuck in the changer and won't play or eject. It makes noises like it's trying to eject but doesn't. The 1st cd is about 1/4 of the way out of the cartridge and into the changer but won't move either way. The deck says "no disc" when you try to play it.
My question, can anyone give me instructions on how to remove the changer and/or get the cartridge out? I have tried everything I know of short of removing the changer (and taking it to the dealership).

I had the same thing happen to mine. Had to pull the entire unit and use an instrument screw driver to move the cd back into the holder. I was then able to eject it. Ended up having to replace the unit because it always did the same thing if we tried to use it.
I watched the stereo shop do mine when i had same issue. I have a 03 with the factory 6-cd but its roughly the same principle. If you can see the cd, turn on your expy, and try to remove it with two butter knifes (thats what i did myself the second time even though it sounds ghetto, dont have any special removal tools lol) or something real skinny that can make it into the doorway and sorta sandwich pull out the visible cd. If you cant see the cd then you are gonna have to take off your dash around your cdplayer. If its anything like mine there should be 2 screws on the underside of the top part of the instrument display (basically look at the instrument display and go to the underside of the top of the dash). Anyway, once those are removed the rest is just popout clamps. Be careful of your A/c and other instrument cables that are attached to the back of the face of your dash. then you should be able to remove your cd player/changer to access your changer issue. But your dash may vary so it may be different. Let me know how different yours is to mine and we could go from there.
