Looks like a great show Roger. Hope the weather holds out for you all. Cloud ceiling is pretty low up in DBQ. At least you won't have to worry about the heat today.
It is certainly a risk of flying any aircraft. I am sure that the pilots passion for flying out weights the risk and that is why we have air "shows". It really is to bad that accidents do happen. I am just thankful that it happened in controlled airspace vs during practice when it could have been over a neighborhood.
All of the pilots are fully aware that something can go wrong each time they get in the cockpit. It is no different than a racer getting into their race car. Of course it is sad that anyone should lose their life this way, but there is plenty of less honorable ways to die.
