Ok I plugged the line leaving the pvhs going into the vacuum reservoir and only had defrost, what does that mean?

Plug the line at the "T" where it comes from the pump and branches to the PVHS. This will isolate the hubs from the rest of the system. If you still only have defrost, then you have a leak on that side of the circuit somewhere. You can route a line around the reservoir to take that out of consideration. If there problem persists you've got to keep tracing the lines back (no fun) to find the offending line or component.

Good luck.

Ok I plugged the line at the t and had defrost only so I have a leak else where. Bout ready to send it over to ford and let them find the leak. I don't want to invest in a vacuum pump if I'm only gonna use it once

Remove your glove box door (press in tabs on the sides) and you'll see a cluster of vacuum lines. Maybe something fell off. Check out the pic and the AC Mod pdf below for more info.Name: vac line pic from F350_6 Chris.jpg

Lots of good info here:
Air Conditioning Mod - Ranger Shutoff Valve.pdf

Pic of how I ran the HVAC vacuum line directly to the reservoir when I went to manual hubs. All vac to AC, none to hubs. Pull and cap T from res (blue lower center of pic) then disconnect HVAC line and cap hub line (white center-right of pic) and run HVAC line straight down fender to res, like so:

Good luck!

Huh? You need the vacuum pump for the HVAC to work properly. Without vacuum it will always be defaulted to defrost.

I think he is talking about a pump that is external to the truck, not one attached to it.
