Vacuum Pump Question

Does the vacuum pump sysle like an air compressor on a Semi?

How much noise is normal from a vacuum pump?

I don't notice any noise from the vacuum pump. I would think if you can hear it, something is wrong.

yep if you can hear it better grab a new one the inevitable is coming....

does your brake light come on ??? its normal at first start up but does it come on during heavy long braking? the brake light will come on when it senses low vac

I just put a new vaccum pump on my truck, and it makes a sort of hising or ticking sound. Hope this helps.

Replaced mine a while ago, it went bad all of a sudden. Not a good feeling to step on a concrete block with very little brake. Get it fixed BEFORE you have a problem. I had no warning, at least you do.
