When I get in my truck and turn the key on I hear a sound that sounds like a small motor running. Any one hear this or had this issue? It runs for about a minute or so.
I wouldn't worry about your pump running at start up. I think all of these trucks do this. I don't think it will hold vacuum with the truck turned off for a long while.
if you have a leak the hubs wont lock and heater door stays on defrost..sounds like you got a leak starting if the pump wont shut down..let the pump run with key on and truck not running and see if you can hear any leaks.. most of the time the leaks are down near the locking hubs..
Ron, on his 1st post he said the pump only runs for about 1 min. Could be fuel pump or vacuum pump. They both will run at start up.
your right..i missed that.. thanks Rick..1 minute is nothing...i think mine runs a little longer when cold out..i know its a little louder turning them cold parts in the AM...
I won't have the locking hub issue as mine is only 2wd as far as it being the vacuum pump I think I narrowed it down to that because you can really here it in the passenger foot well. I will not worry to much about it now as it seems to be pretty normal. Thanks for your help.
