Ok I just found the site but so far I like good stuff
Now the way I see thing considering ricers is you can mod a ricer to have the same power that American muscle comes with, and American muscle can still be modded with all the things that a ricer has. So haw far do you wont to go.
And one the not of what is the point of lowering a truck
What is the point of the Blackwood or the lighting, or the Harley Davison how many people spend 50g’s to go to the hardware store?
Any who nice site and I’m glad to find a place that I can give my view on these topics
I own a truck I own a ricer (gave to my girl) and I own a stang.
When i spent 2 grand on my stang mods. I added about 250 hp. When I spent 2 grand on my 99 civic i addedd about 550.My girlfriend civic when tuned for racing pulls a 10.43 in the 1/4 and thats without slicks and a babyseat in the back. Lets get real they are cheaper last longer and are the new Z generation toy. Hate on us if you like but we will prevail
Prices differ from imports and fords, wouldn't you think? Larger parts are needed for bigger blocks? There are also more imports out, than mustangs on the roads also. So, parts are a dime a dozen, right? Supply and demand? But, wait. Wouldn't a stang have more hp than a civic stock? Are they both manuals? I thought there would be too many differences to consider them both fair to each other. You're comparing Steven Segal to Mike Tyson, follow me?
I liked the second movie better than the first. This one actually had a plot. And the chase scene was brilliant. The second those dodges came out, my hubby said, "yup, there's you". You Betcha..
FYI, my son has a fast and furious shirt. it's his favorite movie, as well as the second. He watches it alot.

That's a bunch of bull. You can spend 4 grand on a Civic and and you won't come close to running a 10 anything in the quarter. You would have to have racing tires, weight reduction, an engine swap, fat turbo, and a ton of bolt-ons to boot, and you 'aint gonna do all that in your garage. So then you have installation fees, labor fees, so on and so forth. If you want a friggin' Civic to run 10's, you would have to spend at least 10K or more. A stock EX runs about 16.6 - 16.7 in the quarter. A stock SI runs about a 15.7 - 15.8. I have a friend with an Integra GSR with over 7K in his motor and he runs a 12.3 in the quarter. I don't know where you got your times from, but I sure would like to see your quarter slip and all the parts you bought.
And just so you know a stock integra runs a 15.1 in the quarter. I don't disagree with you that Civics aren't all that bad of cars, but you 'aint running a 10 anything with $2,000 worth of mods. Gees, an 18 G Turbo alone costs over $3500. If you bought that you'd gain about 1.5 seconds in the quarter maybe. IMHO, you don't have a clue what you're talking about.
I have to agree with some of the older posts here, this is simply the equal to the muscle car of our generation. If you aren't putting time and money into the engine so it runs, don't bother putting money into body kits. If you are going to drop it for better handling, do it right so your tires aren't visibly tilting in to the top of the wheelwell. But on the same note, don't raise your 2x4 a foot and a half and still have no real off-road capability. A "ricer" is a poser, someone who makes there car look capable that isn't. If they have a car worth racing, it's not what I call a ricer and it is simply the new generation, congratulations to Asian car-makers, they can finally compete on our racetracks.

I agree with you 100%.

And to mister I'm so fast in my girls civic that I gave her
Stock integras run high 15's (standards) high 16's low 17's for automatics. Type R's run high 14's. GSR's run low-mid 15's.
Stipped interior 10K in the engine you'll do 12's.
You want 10's? This guy above saying 2k and he did 10s' roflmao.
Must of read that article in super 2nr or whichever it was, the 10second corolla (where they took a sawzall to the car) LOL.
Even an 89 hatch with a H22 swap (prelude engine 220hp on tap, HUGE modifications to make it fit) AND a turbo AND no interior (oh wait you have interior and a baby sit roflmao) you could do 10's.
So just out of curiousity. Since I want to do 10's in a fwd car (not) how did you get traction? What was your 60' ? And what did you spend your 2k on ? A stolen engine + turbo and a massive intercooler...and some bags of ice to pack the engine with.
Lol or maybe it was an exhaust tip and some stickers
watched this movie with my kids last weekend. it was beyond absurd. lime green mits with a big handle on the rear deck..........had to explain to son, cars don't jump drawbridges and drive away from it. ever.

Roger that!

I pretty much agree with that. Some 4 cylinder Hondas, Integras, Preludes, etc. are pretty nice after you fix them up. It's people that don't know what they are talking about that make the others look stupid. There is a guy in my town who's name will remain unknown who has a mid 90's Honda Civic DX. Just for the record, his nickname is "Chili Bowl." Here's what he did to his Honda. First, he painted it purple. And it wasn't a nice purple. It was like between pink and purple. He then, BOUGHT, Acura Integra HUBCAPS for $25 from another friend of mine. THEN, he bought 2 stickers....a Civic SI sticker...and a Civic TypeR sticker... He put the SI sticker on the hood. He put the TypeR sticker on the trunk. Just so you'll know, there are such things as Type R Civics, but they are not in America. SI Civics are in America. His was neither one. He had a DX model and put those stickers on there because he had no idea what they meant.
Furthermore, he then LIFTED the rear end of the FWD Civic in order to get better "quota mile times." Upon asking him how - he replied,"Because a rear-wheel-drive car is better tilted in the back to run faster."
.........I was lost for words after this....but it does get better...
I almost can't say it...he then CUT a hole in the top of his car for a sun-roof...
After it was all said and done, he 'claimed' his car ran a mid 14 in the quarter...I told him to race my friend with the Integra who currently runs a 15.9 in the quarter. They raced and my friend one by about 9 car lengths. THAT my friends is why a "RICER" is a "RICER."
I guess here's another final thought. Put a 1990 Mustang 5.0 side by side with ANY year/model/type Civic and see who wins in the quarter mile. Compare the results, invest in a cat-back system and an intake for the Civic, but leave the 5.0 stock. Run them again. Now that you've spent $500 on the cat-back system and $150 on the intake, you're confused... How in the world did the 5.0 beat me again? So then you get tough. You go out and buy header, a throttle body, and some racing tires. You race a 3rd time, and then you realize that the 5.0, bone stock, still beats you. Now you've spent $400 on headers, $???????? on racing tires, and about $200 on a throttle body. How much money in mods is that guys? hmmmm, let's see....carry the 2 and... GOT IT!
TOO FRIGGIN' MUCH! While the only money spent on the 5.0 was for gas! Now then, I wonder how much I can get a 1990 5.0 for these days...I know one is for sale for $4500 in my town. It's actually fixed up a bit too. Now then, a new Civic with no mods runs...well I think you get the message.
Civics -- better gas mileage and warrantee
5.0 -- VROOM! VROOM!
p.s. - I only hate ricers. I don't hate the people that actually know a few things about fixing up a 4 banged import! One day, I plan on having one!
On the integra site the guys used to say "There is no replacement for big displacement...except a turbo" But then you just say...and you think a turbo wont fit on a BB why? Then they are stumped hehe.
Met some really good guys...but so many not so good guys. Not to mention I feel a fool for ever thinking my integra was a "sports" car. hehe. Sports compact fits (sure was compact) I think if I could do it all over again under the same circumstances...I would of taken my $9000 and bought a 1976 vette + a used 454 and swapped it in place of the 350. But thats just me.

The feeling is mutual

I can't help it! That's hilarious! Nice, eh? 2g's for 550 hp? WOW! That's pretty freakin' amazing! Let's see...what can I get for 2 grand that will get me about 550 hp's? hmm....What do I know that you don't know? Hoooooooooooo! Sorry, I just can't get over it!
my 17 year old son was starting to go down the path to rice burner hell. peer pressure i think. until i traded in my 01 lightning for a 03 cobra. after riding in the cobra he see's the light. here's a good way to shrink the ego of any speedracer wannabe. get about a 40mph roll in 2nd gear with the motor winding to about 4500rpm. with the flowmasters about even with their side window, preferably driver side. make sure there's no law enforcment around then nail it for about 2 seconds. i've been shot the bird a few times using this method(after i slow down and they they catch up) also a few thumbs up. there may be a few cars faster in the 1/4 mile than my cobra but not many. there's very few cars as overall balanced as my cobra. this thing handles like it's on a rail and will stick you back in the seat all the way to 150. i've owned several other mustangs and muscle cars in my life and this car is far better all around than anything i've owned so far. GOD BLESS CAMPISANO!!!!!!!!! (cars i've owned. a 70 dodge super bee 383 magnum,69 ranchero gt 428 cj, 70 plymouth sattelite 440, 86 mustang gt last year for carbureted 5.0, 96 mustang gt , 86 conquest tsi, 01 lightning, 03 cobra.)
