nice job. i noticed there was some things u werent happy about. sorry to hear tat. tat was why i went with the sinister coolant filter kit. measured exactly, simple instructions, and easy to do.
ur setup looks great too! couple of points. u might want to go to o'reillys n get a set of wire loom. u'll have to cut it down to size, but the important part is to protect the part of hose tat is going to the heater valve. in my opinion, tats the most sensitive part and the easiest exposed.
now for the other hose going to degas bottle, get some cable tie and slip it inbetween the gap in the fan shroud to keep tat hose from bouncing or flopping around.
oh and btw, there is light-blue wire loom at o'reillys. tats wat i got. looks nice.
oh n for the hose to the heater valve, i slipped it between the ac condenser line. i'm kinda paranoid about tat hose hanging around so close to tat CAC tube.
I looked for some stainless steel wire braid to cover the hoses, but all I could find was some assorted size kits at O'Reilly and Autozone. I found some bulk spools online, but most were way too long for what I needed.
After looking at the unexpected humps/ect in the incorrectly sized hoses, I'm glad I didn't find any braid. It would have caused friction in several spots where the filter hose and radiator hose touch.
If everything had fit correctly, the braid would be an excellent addition. As it turned out, it would have been like putting a time release hack saw under the hood.
"RPM371" iam sorry that kit didnt fit right, i used the Sinister Kit & the hose's fit perfectly.
Maybe u can return yours or get em to send u shorter hose's
I did however replace the factory hose that goes from my Degas bottle to Radiator after this pic was taken, so i could re-route that hose under my CAC tube & i also added some Loom in a couple areas to prevent any rub throughs.
Ive only had mine on for a few hundred miles & it seems to work perfectly
My kit eliminated the factory hose from Degas bottle to Radiator with a new silicone hose with a factory "T". Good idea in my book.
Problem was the length of the hose from the "T" to the filter was about 2" too long which resulted in the "hump" and no way to hide it.
The second problem was the other hose that ran from the heater (feed) to the filter . It was WAY too long. I could have spliced a couple inches out of the middle, but that would defeat the whole purpose of crimped fittings.
It's a quality kit, they just need to check their specs and QC.

Oh yeah i didnt notice that at 1st look, i wish mine did that (only w/proper length hose...lol).
BTW our coolant blocks & hose fittings are identicle, Sinister just paints theirs blue.
Maybe if u re-route ur De-Gas hose under ur CAC tube (like i did after / not in that pic) it would take up some of that slack
I did it cause i was worried my hood was goin to rub it sittin on top of that Big Banks Intake Elbow & Tube.

I tried to reroute the hose but it was too short.
The precut and crimped hoses really screwed me. I wish that wasn't the case because I love everything else about the kit.
Measure twice, cut once. That shouldn't be an issue with a company called "Precision Machine". To add insult to injury, their "detailed installation video" on Youtube consists of a 5 second Precision Machine logo. All their written material refers you to the video for detail.
I really wanted to give this a positive review. But the more I look at what I spent, the less I'm impressed with what I got in return. The one upside is my kit included cutoff valves to eliminate coolant leaks when I change the filter.
If everything was cut right, as advertised, this would have been a great deal.
Refresh my memory someone. Do the 06 motors not have a vacuum hose? You know, the little grey hose to the Heater valve? Just wondering. (Or just getting a tad bit older! )
I ordered mine from dfuser.com mainly because it has the shut off T values to isolate the filters when changing. Maybe other kits have the T's also, but at least one kit I looked at didn't (can't remember which one now).
I haven't installed it yet as I also need to flush my coolant system and will add the filter then. I may get on it this week...Gotta do Blue Spring too.
The vacuum hose is only if u got the EATC. Thing is for climate control. If u got the ***** for Ur ac, then u won't have It. If u got stupid retarded buttons like mine, then u will have tat vacuum hose. I hate the flaws in my truck. Damn.

Yes my 2006 does have a small hose but i also have a digital Auto Temp Control unit (no *****) so if "snuggy" is right thats why some do & some dont...

My Sinister Kit also has shut-off valves (nice!!) & it came w/written instructions...
Every kit has Pros/Cons but either way their both doing there job & this way others can see the small differences in these 2 kits, oh i paid $130 + shipping @ XDP for the Sinister
Of cos I'm right. Lol. I hate my electronic thing for an ac. My 7 truck old boy has somehow mastered It n I haven't. I'm supposed to be the engineer in the family. Damn again. Lol.
