Hey guys, been awhile since I checked in. I've been busy with the new job and the pstroke. Basically I finall got all the goods, arp's comp 910s and 250 hybrids. They should be here tomorrow but I'm pleased to say that doing head studs in these ol trucks with valve springs ARE very doable. You only need to remove JUST the AC box cover, 6screws and it's out. And the bolts on the driver side motor mount. The 2 that hold the blockmount to the frame mount* you jack it up via manifold and that PITA rear stud has
All the room in the world to come out. And with the AC box cover out you can do the very rear passenger side valve spring out with the regular spring tool you get at advance auto or autozone. I highly suggest using the JEGS valve spring micrometer tool to take he guess work out of your valve stem height or installed
Spring height. Which I'm pleased to say my valves were all in spec and only needed a .015 shim to get my goal of 130-134lbs seat pressure
Travis, you'll crap if you see how soft the stock springs are. I could compress a decent amount in my hand, with these in the truck and shimmed i feel a whole lot better!!
Yeah glen this is the 471 that's on jake site. I'll be upgrading this to a billet by this summer to help spool times and to clear up the new fuel.

Yeah the stock springs are pretty dang soft. I have 2 sets of them sitting on the shelf. LOL. I decided I don't want 910s anymore, so I need to get another set of springs to stick in the heads I'm going to use.
