Hello, my name is Terry and I bought a 2005 F150 used about two months ago. I have a problem with the piece of plastic that is between the windshield and the hood, this is the part that the wiper arms go through. This part is in two pieces that join in the middle by snapping together. Mine won’t stay snapped together. I can put them together but when I drive the truck they manage to come apart and one of the ends sticks up. I am posting a picture to help explain. Does anyone else have this problem? Am I putting them together wrong?
Mine does it too. I think there is an article if you search the posts that suggests using a small screw to keep them together. I've never been able to figure out how the screw is actually going to work and plan on buying new ones eventually. They are over $100 each piece from the stealership though.
I put a screw in mine through the lower tab, just under the hood. I had zip ties holding it but they eventually snapped, I think from the UV rays breaking down the plastic. The screw is doing just fine, and a very cheap repair
I had the exact same problem after I had my windshield replaced and the way I fixed it was giving it a good solid hit with my hand right over the center where the snaps are. I had originally thought it was snapped together but when I gave it a firm hit it locked into place and now it fits flush together. Was an easy fix for me, good luck.
They are over $100 each piece from the stealership though.
Don't forget to check with Tousley Ford Parts, a Supporting Vendor here at FTE. They have incredible prices and can save you a ton compared local dealerships.

Another bit of useful information for you guys is that I have full coverage auto insurance with full windshield replacement. I get up to 3 free windshields a year if the crack or chip is unrepairable. If you get the windshield replaced by your insurance company you can request a new cowl from the auto glass shop and it is considered a safety item and will be replaced along with the windshield. I was told this by the auto glass shop and so I requested the cowl and it was true. Not sure if this is true for all insurance companies but worth a shot.
Mine was doing this I went ghetto and laid a bit of JB weld in the seam. It's working great and doesn't look bad at all (the colors match) I looked into is replacement cowls are like 80$ each
