good day i have 2 460 engines in my shop on stands 1 internaly 1 externaly ballanced [internal has the round crank shaft spacer external has the weight on the spacer] behind the dampner i had to remove the flex plates to mount them on the stands and didnt think to mark them can any one tell me how to tell the difference in these flex plates? i dont want to get the wrong one as that would be deadly with and unballanced engine thanks for your help
very likely that the flywheel for the internally ballanced engine will not have a counter weight.
if they both have counter weights, the weight on the externally ballanced flywheel should be much larger. a machine shop could easily verify the balance before you installed it.
if they are originals, the part number should be on it and Mikeo0oo0o might be able to help you out. If they are not originals, they should still have a part number ... i'd just type that part number in your favorite search engine and see what comes up.
