I occasionally find an interesting mod on my truck that the previous owner installed. The AIS intake was a real bonus, but the modified tube on the red line... not so much. I just discovered my map sensor signal was intentionally grounded, presumably to keep the mod to the red line from tripping a defuel.
You modders in the back... Please keep the snickering down.
Anyway, I removed the ground from the MAP signal wire and I have to start taking all AE data with the MAP sensor active because I have a T500 to install this weekend and I want before/after data. I'm torturing poor "Stinky" with WOT runs, hard climbs, and hard downgrades in decel. I should be killing my economy - like these tests always have. I normally show 133 miles traveled city/hwy at the 3/4 mark on my fuel gauge, but I easily showed 163 miles at 3/4 this time - that's 30 more miles for the same 8 gallons. The only time I EVER saw that kind of reading, was on long hauls at a cruise of 65. It's premature to declare it, but that works out to 19 MPG under grueling conditions. Oh... and I have officially popped 30 PSI boost (80e tune). I'll take a vid.
I fueled up the same way I have since I bought the truck
