I've been on an AE rampage! I record every drive to and from work, with different criteria almost each time. I knew my boost, so I didn't look closely at my Manifold Pressure... until now.
65 MPH cruise - 4 PSI on the gauge and 4 PSI on AE. WOT acceleration - 27-28 PSI on the gauge and 13.3 PSI on AE.
I have three theories before I check my manual back home:
once the pcm sees more than 23 or 24 lbs of boost it will defuel the truck so if youre hittin' 28 on the mechanical gauge you definitely dont want the truck seeing it! do you have the code eliminating tunes from jody?

I dunno - but I have AE to clear stuff if I ever get a code thrown at me (none so far).
It's done in the tuning.
I loved my DP-Tuner, but at the same time I hated the 80E program because of the phenomenon you mention. Not because of skewed data (since I knew what was going on), but because it made the truck an absolute turd (moreso than stock) when the 3-4 shift occurred under light load.

That was the ONLY complaint I had about the tuning (although I never complained). I just learned to use the TCS (OD "off") button unless I was driving aggressively.
I really love my DP 80E tune ! Cept for ooone little problem ! I need a neck brace to drive it. The shifting in and out of OD is so close that it is killin me!!! I will be leavin FL in a week or 2 and I am sending it in for reprogram. If I can get the stock shift program in 80E I will be a happy Smokiesman!!
I don't know how long you guys have had your DP tuners. I have had mine for two months now and love the 80e mode. It will shift hard from 3 to 4 when cold. But after a mile or so, it's great.
That was mentioned in the instructions to let it warm up..
Maybe they have changed things a bit with the programs.
My 80e was "personalized" by Jody for my HD4R100, based on all the work we did together on my 60e Mountain tune (hooray for the F6 chip). The 80e tune is perfection on my truck - it's my wife's favorite tune because it's so smooth in all driving conditions.
My 60eM tune may or may not need tweaking yet: I'm waiting for hot weather to determine if this might be a "Summer" tune and my 80e would be a "Winter" tune because of transmission temps. My tranny runs about 60-80 degrees above ambient, so it never really warms up in the winter.
The first three shifts on my 80E are tolerable but she shifts into OD at 47 mph but drops back out at 40 mph . The shift up to OD is not bad but the drop out really shakes yer teeth. Got to soften up that shift. Now in 60 tow with the trailer on the shifts are firm but not the neck breaker! probably because of the load! Now the 60 tow works great on the flatland but the temps stay better on climbs in 40 tow and I feel she has plenty of power to climb the mountian.
