More boost should help lower egts... yours seem really high to me, and the tranny temp is also interesting. I would run to the radiator then your aux. cooler, you want the trans to stay as close to 165 as you can get it. Does your pickup labor hard? I wonder if the tranny is slipping, causing the extra heat, and making the engine have to work even harder.

1150 just cruising at 1/4 seems rediculus to me, most guys dont hit that @ WOT roaling coal

Before hooking up my gauges I took a test drive and it didn't want to hold overdrive. I think the tranny is about shot even though it has less than 10k since a rebuild according to PO. Called the shop in Chicago that did it and they are no help. I have only made it throw a code once and it was torque converter slip and high oil temp. When I replaced the filter the oil was brownish. How much oil does the pan hold? I had almost 2.5 gallons come out of mine. If I turn the fuel up more would that help boost?

Not sure exactly what they hold, i know its about a case. Brown after a few thousand miles sounds like something isnt right.. Did they replace the torque converter? On a E4OD they can and do wear out as i understand it. With a rebuild though it should be replaced anyway. TC's are usually the first and biggest reason for high tranny temps, but not always. That was the only thing i could think of, and what you say kinda backs that, but im afraid i dont know of anything beyond that. Try a transmission shop, like Aamco, we just had one of our fleet trucks diagnosed and it was free, from what they said it sounds like it was a pretty thorough inspection, not just a test drive and guess.

Thanks for the help these nice Oklahoma storms knocked out my internet had to wait till I got to work to reply. I think I am going to bite the bullet and have the transmission rebuilt by a shop I trust and have them do it with parts that will hold up to towing. I want to put in a DT 360 and would like a 7 speed but may keep the auto so the wife can drive it.
