I run an oil by-pass. Ford 6.0, 6.4 and 7.3 Oil Bypass Systems and Billet Aluminum Filter Caps

There are many others and many members have made their own

I'm just gonna put this out there... Less if you are a dealer or preferred member.

You can get an actual Amsoil Dual Filter Bypass for about $400... and it just bolts on, no special work required. Just mount filter bracket w/ base, remove OEM filter, install filter cap on OEM filter location, and connect the lines from the bypass unit to the OEM filter location cap.

I had an Amsoil BMK26 and gave it to a friend because I wanted to run a Donaldson ELF7405 filter. I paid about 400 for it but I did not like a system that runs a large line from the filter location back to two separate filters. The system I replaced it with can run my Donaldson filter and an Amsoil 2 micron filter without mounting the filters along the frame rail for about half the price. To each his own, it all depends on what type of system you are looking for.

I bulit my own set-ups for a fraction of the cost. Springerpop also has the ones he built on his website.

Transmission Filter Write-Up

Oil By-pass Filter Write-Up

Take a look at those and build your own.

cps - the one I have a link to in the above post. I use a Donaldson filter as normal and run the by-pass next to the Donaldson filter as shown on the install instructions at the web site. Looks like this...

Yup, i built my systems using both Wood-N-Things and SpringerPops' ideas. I bought my materials through Fleetfilter.com, and probably got 100 buks into it total..pics in album.
