oil pan rust

I was under the truck yesterday and notice the Oil pan is getting rusty.
What would be the best way to address this.

Be very careful.... if just surface rust, wire brush and paint it.... if more, you'll have no choice be replace it. In CT, the salt prob got to it.......probe too far and you'll have an oil leak!

Before painting it use a self etching primer and then paint. Another 10 bucks but worth it in the long run.

POR coating they have an etching primer you can order. their instructions are to remove only loose flakes, etch it then apply coating. very durable/rust resistant

That product is actually called POR 15. It's an excellant product and actually converts the rust into a protective coating. It's also paintable.
