Just got back from a 9 day camp trip - truck ran great towing 3 horse trailer with some stuff in the bed (say 6K lbs of trailer) a lot of it high elevation/long steep grades (around 8500' was highest). Took a couple Torque screenshots at either end of tow - max EOT of 235 on way up with outside air in 90s and generally keeping at 50 up the grades (check out the fan speed) max boost was 25-ish on the way up, but that would be sustained for a couple minutes at least. Oh and we had a great time, other than a couple of days of extreme smoke...
Trip out and up to 7300' lake.
Trip home on hotter day (100)...

I'm having difficulty raising awareness of this, right now CA only regulation, But it is a CARB thing, and a bunch of states will follow whatever CARB says. Take the MH in for Annual inspections, even though we put less than 1k on it a year...?
Taking the wife to visit friends in Florida, perhaps they have horse trails down there... :-/
I don't usually have a problem with the 6.0. However, just got a postcard from CARB that (first I'd known) any on road Diesel over 14K gvwr is getting a very restrictive regulatory system placed on it. The basis of the law that was signed by the current governor, is for the long haul truckers, but because our motorhome falls Over that weight limit, we are lumped in with them, even though most MH owners only put 1 to 5k miles per year on their rigs...

Get the word out, they are still working on the regs to meet the "intention" of the law...
Holy crap that's ridiculous
As a comparison: Registration fee $147, License Fee $40, Weight fee $257, Special plate fee $40, County/District fee $4. 2006 F250 CCSB.
They get you coming and going.
Inspection Fee $7, Reg fee $74.....but that'll change like everywhere else that gets inundated. 5 years ago, my reg fee was $32. Gotta love Texas. I also paid those exorbitant fees in my home state of CA. I don't miss it, and now you can't even have an F-450 or 550.

You can if you get an exemption like I did, at least for now. Took off my B&W 5th wheel hauler bed and made it into a pickup. Because the chassis cab frame is narrower then the pickup frame had to fabricate brackets to attach bed to frame. I also installed a B&W under bed turn over ball with companion 5th wheel hitch.

Got home late last night from a weekend at the Greater Yosemite Council’s Camp McConnell in Livingston CA (Home of Foster Farms).
Typical NorCal weekend, days in the 100’s and flow of traffic was Rediculous. EOT/ETC Deltas stayed consistently at 4*F but, ECT was hanging between 232* and 238* depending on speed and when the EOT hit 242* I got a Ford dash warning. We got to listen to the Fan the WHOLE trip
on the Return leg, we got a flat and the boy got a chance to apply his ROP Autoshop lessons on the side of Hwy 99.
