Ya, I just tried to bug ya. You most assuredly have my respect sailor. I just did the army band in DC for a few years. NOT normal duty to say the least.....
I tell ya John, I was born and raised in the Chicago area. My folks moved to Atlanta in '81 and I thank them for it annually. Nothing against all you fine folks up north, but, y'all are nuts......
I loving it here in SC but I think FL is next for me.
I'm right with you Joel.. This wouldn't have been my choice of places to land in the 70s when my dad got transferred here by his employer....but whadya do?
That said, as soon as I'm eligible, I'm migrating south. Now whether that's south or southwest remains to be seen but fortunately my wife and I agree on moving to a warmer climate.
Honestly, if it weren't for having my in-laws three minutes across town from us, we'd likely have moved before now. But if everything works out right, I've got a touch over seven years left before I can retire....then I'm going to do like the old shepherd and get the flock out of here.
I've been told that I drink like a fish....does that count?
And yes it is almost Happy Thursday buddy...just gotta hold on for a few more hours.

That's funny Joel....speaking of SEAL's, when I was in boot camp (bear in mind I was 18 at the time and was fearless) they asked who wanted to be the baddest in the land??
I of course said I do, and so off we went to watch a movie on what SEAL training was like
After watching that I decided "Not for me" but it ingrained in me a huge amount of respect for those guys....

Funny you mentioned that, I know all about the BubbleHeads...I was on a submarine tender for 4 years. Actually took a tour of a Boomer once while it was tied up alongside and could not believe that they live there for 3 months or more at a time....and that was the bigger of the 2 subs, the smaller one being a fast attack.
And can you believe the nerve of those guys calling us "Skimmers"....
Or if they really wanted a butt whooping "Targets"....
Have a good trip savage. I'm likely headed out next week myself, I'm infatuated with Daytona beach shores. KOA is $25/night, 400 miles away, I can drive on the sand.

That sounds like a great time! I would love to drive my truck on a REAL beach some day.
