It's time to fab and install fuel lines. For the first time I'm running a fuel injected motor so I'm a little out of my knowledge zone. I know I'll need to run a line from the gas tank to the motor and a return line to the tank and that's all I know. Any suggestions as to what size line I'll should run? Are there any other details I need to know about before tackling this next step?
Been quite a while since I did my fuel lines to my ' 90 5.0L (302) but I used the stock lines from the fuel rail and transitioned them to hard lines along the frame rail back to my tank. I think they are in the neighbourhood of 3/8" and 7/16 (return being smaller ? and then fuel rated rubber to the last 2 feet to my tank (for flexiblitiy). I could measure them if you need.
Using an electric fuel pump, rail mounted behind the cab (noisy). I will be trying to move the fuel pump to internal tank if I can in the spring. It seems to cavitate and really whines. I hate whining.
I'm taking advantage of the long Christmas holiday to get some work done on the old truck. Steering column and steering wheel installed, front disc brake calipers installed, running boards in place. I also roles it out of the garage for a bath in the driveway (80 degrees today). Tomorrow I'll install the rear sill cover and role pan. I need to order some polished strips and wood for the bed. Then I might haul it to the muffler shop.
I'm having trouble uploading images right now. I'll try again later.
You're a few steps ahead of me. I've got to get my brake line and fuel lines run, connect radiator hoses and trans cooler lines, get the exhaust system installed. Then I'll start wiring.
