I just signed up to comment on your restore. I was searching for my own project, nowhere as in depth as yours. Great work and I hope you find a buyer to reward you for it. With the equivalent of that truck going for over $50K you should.
I have a 2003 F550 I bought new, XL 6.0 4x4 6sp 9'flat bed, just like the one you restored. I have to say I was shocked in the condition but I guess I'm getting older. Being a '99 it could have been made in '98 so, that was 14 years ago. Time flies.
My truck has a whopping 35K miles and is pretty well mint. The dealership insulted me with the trade in value so I'm putting some money into both of my trucks instead of buying a new +$50K truck. She is going to have a super single wheel conversion, lift to fit the tires, and then become my ranch/hunting truck. A small crane will to be put on the flat bed to haul the 200lb spare tire and help haul up elk/moose carcasses. Lockers going in both axles too, detroit in rear and arb in front. My 2000 F350 CC LWB is getting some of the same treatment. Love the 7.3.
Nice work once again. Oh and the only way a helicoil goes wrong is operator error...

Hi Toymaster. I am planning for my 2002 pretty much what you are for your 2003. I have the 7.3 but the rest should be nearly identical. Where did you get your lift, super singles and lockers?
