How many miles are on it? Sorry to say, but I think you'll be lucky to get more than about $12k.
I have over 12k in the truck(currently). I have 3 people interested in it already(@15k+), so i dont think I will have any issues. I have a Good rep for building some quality trucks
Like I said, I have yet to find a comparable truck (F550, 4wd 7.3 stick) Most are either 2wd, F450, 6.0, auto or no dump
How many miles were on those trans splines. May be informative for someone looking to buy a comparable truck. Definetly a solid resto. Sand blast and POR 15. No future rust issues there. FSD
Dude, you are moving right along. Seems as if everything is going smoothly. The weather is cooperating nicely this year. Last year you wouldn't be able to work outside.
Very cool build so far and I'll be checking in frequently. When I read that you were using POR-15, I knew exactly that you are the type of guy that builds it right. That paint is not cheap, and I know from experience, that it is a superb product and the durability and corrosion resistance it provides is unsurpassed in my opinion. The way you are coating the frame and cab means that salt, moisture, etc will have a hard time beating that truck again.
Great job! I have to say this is the first Super Duty that I've seen a full restoration job on. I still believe the 7.3 Super Duty models will have value to collectors someday...especially the Expeditions.
I think bonding the rockers was the right way to go, POR-15 and welding doesn't mix too well.
I can't wait to see what you are going to do for sound proofing the cab....
Being a manual trans, how do you fast idle the engine for the PTO pump? If I remember correctly, the PTO Control wire under the dash may not work on manual trans vehicles. Do you have an AIC module or something else entirely?
