I have a 2011 SCREW Eco-Boost with a build date in April 2011. I have a gravel driveway. When I first got the truck I noticed small dark spots in the gravel but attriubuted it to the A/C. I parked over some fresh snow the other night and found some fluid stain on the ground in the morning. It was kind of by the motor and then a little further back. It was the color of yellow/chartruse antifreeze but the truck has pink antifreeze in the overflow tank. Anybody know what is going on?
Thank you for the replies. Is Ford's tranny fluid yellow/chartruse color? That is a new one to me and I can't check because no dip stick. I have only seen red previously so didn't even consider it.
I'm not really sure?? I also would expect the tranny fliud to be red. But since your build date falls within the time frame of the leaking pump issue you should at least take a look. If you have one of these covers (pictured below) under the transmission you should drop it down and look around the bellhousing area for signs of the pump leaking.
Thanks. It is still under warranty and going in for a oil change so I will have the dealer check it out. But now I have knowledge of what might be going on. Thanks again.
Took the truck in last week for an oil change and the dealer could not find any evidence of a leak. We received a lot of snow last night in central MN and there were the same yellow/chartruse spots under the truck again. I took some nice color photos to show the dealer.
