I noticed a small puddle of fluid under my 99 f-250. I thought it was radiator coolant, but it is slippery like oil and has a funky smell to it. It is leaking out of the tranny cooler(i think). I wondered if someone could tell me if Ford tranny fluid is different color now? The color of the fluid is green.

 

No, MERCON is still pink. Never seen green tranny fluid.

I have seen green anti-freeze, and ethylene glycol is slippery.

Sounds like anti-freeze to me. Check your hose clamps.

 

Checked them (all ok) removed brackets for a/c condenser and found a pin hole leak. The green fluid is condenser oil. I realized it was a dumb ? , but with all the new fluids available today never can be sure. I also answered my own ? by checking dipstick. I guess i'm the dipstick for not checking that first! Thanks for the reply.
