I've searched the forum and can't find a post that discusses this issue, so please forgive if this is a repeat.......
My mother has a 2008 Explorer Sport Trac with 65,000 miles that has left her stranded more then once, only to start right up the very next day. The dealership has replaced her starter, had her disable her aftermarket remote start and has disabled the auto-lock feature. Her truck, if left unlocked, will lock itself 90 minutes later, and then every 20 minutes after that. If she locks it when she exits, then it locks itself every 20 minutes. If it's left to do this for a few days, then naturally, it runs the battery down and the truck won't start.
Any ideas how to correct this problem?
If she knows where the fuses are for the remote start system, I'd pull all the fuses to it and see if that changes things. Like your search results, I've not heard or read of this being a common issue, or even an issue that someone else has experienced.
