remote start and lock

so i've seen this wiring package at target for remote start and lock. it's for fuel injected and automatic my truck falls under both. i was wondering if anyone has done this before on one of these and how hard it is to do.

Thanks
Kyle

the kits arent hard to do.

all the experience i have had with remote start has sucked after a while because the control unit for it will cause the vehicle to not start and die for no reason eventualy

but the good news to that is... is that to make the car/truck run right again is to pull the fuse to the system

who makes the one ur looking at?

and does it have the 15 minute run time or the touch the brake and it will shut of function?

i forget who makes it but i know it is the one where you apply the brakes and it shuts off. haha i have no idea why i want to do it besides it's kinda cool and makes the winter days better. and i know that buying auto crap from target isn't a good idea but gave me an idea to where i can look somewhere else that sells better products.

Thanks
Kyle

lol i know about those cold days and i would buy one if i had extra cash especially for the keyless entry.

i got power windows and door locks *XLT Lariat* and i would love to have the ability to press a button and unlock the doors lol kinda frivolus i know but its some of those little luxeries ***i cant spell today***

the only reason i havent tried to get the remote start is because when i first baught my truck few years ago... i went threw 3 or 4 solenoids because they kept sticking and i would hate to be in the house and it stick again and it be cranking for 30 mins and burn up my starter and/or kill the battery

but thats the only reason i dont do the remote start

I have installed around 300 remote start units, just a little advice do not buy one from target or wal mart they are made by bulldog generally and will last for 3 months tops I usually install commando units or viper and have never had a problem with them.

the commando EZ 2500 kit is the easiest and it will run you about 65 bucks and has remote start and keyless entry really easy to install I can send you a wiring diagram for your truck and it will tell you where to find the wires and what color they are for your year if you would like
