Command Start Questions
Hey I have this 1998 F-250 LD with a 4.6L. Anyway, it has a Command Start system installed.
Problem #1: This system, for a long time worked quite well as far as starting it goes. Over the past several years however, it began to start on its own. Just randomly, for no reason it would suddenly fire up. So that little switch under the dash was flipped off and left there. If I turn the switch on, it starts from the remote.
Problem #2: The lock/unlock from remote never did work that I know of. The lock and unlock buttons on the door do work, though. Also, when I push the lock button on the remote, the marker lights flash.
Has anyone and idea what could cause this? I would really like if I could get at least the remote lock part of it to work. Remote start would be an added benefit, especially for the cold winter months. I checked over the wiring, and noticed 2 small wires from the command start box that go nowhere. A red and a blue, if that helps. Anyone familiar with the Command Start?

Okay, I guess if I can't get the existing remote start system to work, I'll maybe get a complete new system. What brand would you recommend? Any info is helpful!
