Loose gear selector

Today I tightened two torx bolts on the lower part of the steering column. It required a #30 torx to tighten them up. It seems to be as good as new.
Doc
P.S. I took some pictures but I am having trouble getting them to go the FTE site

Specifically, what steps were required to gain access to the torx bolts ? Tightening them is a job I must undertake soon and any help in that regard will be greatly appreciated.

Look right down at the bottom of the steering column, you should see a metal bellcrank with the two countersunk type torx head screws.

Loose bolts

You just have to wiggle under the steering column. I used a cheap harbor Freight flashlight to illuminate the area. I tried just using a 30 torx and tightening with my fingers first. then I used a 1/4" drive with the torx to tighten up the bolt. The job took about 10 minutes. It is more awkward than difficult.

Thanks Buddy Great pic

Hey 427 fordman, the pic was great. I got a 95 F250 w/460. It was acting up cause one of the bolts fell out. I took dash apart and crawled under steering column. Your pic really helped me realize what was happening. Thanks again.
