I all I am new to these treads. Question: How do you hold the bolts on the shaft of a 1966 f100 steering shaft to put your collar and shifting collar together? Fighting it.

As I recall and it's been a while....put the bolts in the collar loosley (like one turn), then slide it onto the steering column. Then tighten. Hopefully.

If your talking about the square headed bolts that fit in the slots, I taped my in place with electrical tape to hold them in place, put on the steering collar and VERY carefully put the nuts on the bolts. Frustrating as hell, trust me I know!
