Just got a 1997 EVTM, covers f250HD, F350 and F-Superduty. Gas and diesel.
I'm looking here trying to find a PCM pinout for a 1997 F350, with 5 speed.
I see a pcm pinout listed for 49 states or superduty (manual and gas pins listed) and on the next page I see California model, but it only has automatic pins listed.
I do not see 1997 F350 Cali, with 5 spd PCM pinout anywhere in the book.
I tried to be clever and use the 49 states PCM for manual pins, and look at Cali to see if there was any deviation for the Cali model. I found many pins that are different. Both PCM's were in diesel section.
I would think the Cali automatic pinout would be closer to what you need than the 49-state manual. IIRC, there are significant differences between 49-state and Cali, but the only difference between auto and manual is that the stuff related to the automatic (resistance signal from the TRS, control signals out to the tranny) simply don't apply.
Still, s@cks when you pay good money for a manual like that; those FSMs are not cheap.

Yeah I thought perhaps that would be the case, I went ahead and purchased a 96 EVTM as well, in the event it has the info I desire. I guess it will also be nice to have both so that way if anyone here has a question I can finally give back for all the help I have received here over the years.
Appreciate the advice on the situation though. My question though is where do the manual pins go? Looking here at CALI e4od spec pin 29 is transmission control switch. Looking at the 49 state, it states this pin is also for clutch pedal position switch. Really I would think that the only wiring associated with the clutch system, would be the clutch safety switch right?
Meanwhile I would assume the manual version does not need any of the fluid temp sensors, trs etc, thus would be blank pins.
Also an interesting note (perhaps an error?) I am looking here at cali version e4od. It states pin 20 is clutch coast solenoid. It does not have an asterisk denoting auto trans. Is there such a thing in a manual?
Sorry for the long post, but anything as serious as a PCM repin I want to make exactly sure I know what it was like when it left the factory before I try to go custom.
There is no tranny temp sensor on the manual trans. The only interface between the manual trans and the PCM is the clutch switch; I can't even think of how any other would be possible.

Awesome, I appreciate it. I guess perhaps they just got a little lazy and expected people to know that.
