Towed my 5ver this weekend. 2001 F350/V-10/4R100 trans.
Pulling hard over the mountains.....saw some trans fluid on the ground. Never had a leak before. Anybody have any answers?? Got 114K miles now...rebuilt trans in at 90K. Serviced it about 107K.

Maybe the Front seal got hot, and fluid is pushing past it. Pretty common on these trannies, when worked hard.

A better trans cooler, such as one from a 6.0L truck, usually will fix this problem.

Can you isolate where the leak is from? Mine leaked at the transfer case adapter when it was cold outside, common problem due to the cast/aluminum mating.

Thanks for the answers....will isolate the leak. Kinda figured the V-10 trans cooler was big enough...might look at a 6.0 one....sure are spendy when new!!
