Had a lube shop do a flush and then I ended up with a leak. they have checked it and are not sure what the deal is. I am taking it to a trans shop tomorrow. Anyone have any ideas if this could be from the flush or just a coincidence. Lube shop is willing to cover all expenses if it was caused by them but, this is just strange. Could it be the seal between the trans and transfer case?
Any thoughts?????
Thanks,

I would want the leak fixed and couldn't tell you from here where it is, however, I would be more concerned with the fluid that they used. If it is not SP or LV you still need a flush and ASAP. No subs here by a quickie shop.
On the way to the trans shop, I called the lube center which I have used for years and they have always been great to deal with. I asked them "What fluid did you guys us?" their answer- "SP, it is all you can use on the Torgshift trans". That was at least a little reassuring. Got to the trans shop and the owner was a good dude, let me look around with him and we both agreed that it was coming from the vent and running down both sides on to the trans mount cross brace and dripping from both sides where it comes down towards the ground. He tells me that the 2 most common reasons that the vent will puke fluid is that 1 the trans was over full or 2 it is getting hot. So, he asks if the truck was shifting funny or going in and out of lock up to which I reply "no, I have not noticed anything out of the ordinary". So we hop in and he hooks up the scanner and away we go. He drove the truck pretty hard for about 30 minutes and everything data wise looked perfect. After about an hour to an hour and a half, he said "looks like it must have been a little over full but, the level is almost perfect now so expect a little more to seep out but, it should be great from here on out". I asked him what I owed him and he said, "come see me when you have a real problem" and smiled and sent me on my way.
I will continue to watch it closely but hopefully all is good.

Just to chime in on a similar experience i just had,
I recently had my trans fluid changed/flushed and i noticed a couple days later that the trans was leaking fluid. At first, i thought it was just left over mess and kinda shruged it off. Well, the darn thing kept leaking. It wouldn't leak until the truck got good and warm. Long story short....it was puking it out of the over flow vent on top of the trans but was never running hot or shifting weird. Apparently (i am not a trans expert) there is a soleniod on the trans that switches the trans from a high pressure mode to a low pressure mode. Well this solenoid went bad keeping the trans in high pressure mode causing it to puke out of the overflow vent on top of the trans. No big deal, brought it to the mechanic and they replaced it. I had assumed, like you, it was just overfilled. Nope, upon further investigating it had SP and the correct amount. It will puke excess out if it is overfilled. Just keep an eye out on it.
