Maybe off-topic, but: I have the DP tuner with two tunes that put this to use. Warmup kicks up the throttle and activates the EBPV to get things warmed up faster. Decel activates the EBPV and uses the engine as a compression brake (also does some stuff in the auto transmission). I don't know what my EGTs do in the cold when in stock mode - I'll look into it.
