not sure if anyone knows what im asking for but i will try to explain the best i can.when the temperature is pretty cold my trucks sounds like the fast idle is not kicking off and if you try to drive it like this the EGT will go through the roof. if you wait until its completly warmed up it does like normal. hope someone can understand what im talking about?
Well, thats normal, but when you say your egt's go through the roof, how high are we actually talking? The EBPV should open back up above a certain speed (can't remember what it is but I'm thinking its around 12-15mph.
The rod should only have ten lbs pressure on the ebvp. If its higher then that it mit be keeping it shut. Its hard to check on the truck but with the turbo off it can be done.

That is wierd.. Mine will kick off the high idle and open the exhaust valve if i touch the brake peddle or "go" peddle.
X2. Mine comes off instantly with the brake, but takes good bit of go pedal before it kicks off.
Those with problems have you checked the brake lights or have led bulbs in them? I have heard of these trucks not turning off things that should go off with brakes if the proper draw is not on the circuit.
mine kicks off with brake too but after driving kicks back in cus i live down back roads that 30 is top speed in winter at most for like 4 miles then hiway after that and all lights are good

The EBPV should kick in at light loads, when oil temp is below 150 and air temp below 40, but it should turn off under a load. Under these conditions I don't notice any effect on egt.
