I have 77K on mine, and it has started to lose coolant. And, I'm getting residue on the degass bottle. Ford says I have a blown head gasket (which will not make me happy), but they only spent a half hour on it. So, I'm going to do a little more investigating, to see if maybe I have a bad cap, or if it's the EGR cooler leaking. No sense dropping 4,000 bucks unless I'm absolutely sure. Not having Ford do it either, I'll use better aftermarket parts, and have them stud the block for the heads.
That sounds like the "automatic" diagnosis most Ford shops come up with...and it might be the case. Good money for them if they do the repair. I am sure you know that there can be more to diagnosing this problem...like degas cap, coolant level, plugged oil cooler, and on and on. Wealth of info on the 6.0 forum along with some great tech's and members. Good luck and get a second opinion!
Pat - Thanks for the luck...I'm definitely hoping it works.
Ken - The red definitely looks similar to that on my Yamaha YZR-R1. Very cool.
Well, I get to do more moving today to the new rental house. Oh joy. LOL But at least I'm seeing progress and see that some of the rooms are clearing out. That's definitely making me smile. I'm hoping to mainly just have furniture left (and daily items that you just can't live without) on the day we get the moving truck to make it easier on that day. So far that plan is working. LOL
I'm heading to Carson to get the truck serviced. So today it snows. Not a lot accumulated yet but it is really coming down. I will allow extra time because there is likely to be a lot more on the summit.
It's been a busy day with the kids & unfinished school work until late last night & then again first thing this morning,& taking them to school because they were late & missed the bus, than I went to my rental house where I keep my horse & unloaded 10 bales of hay (by myself).& returned the trailer to a friend. I'm sooo ready for a couple orange kisses (shots) & a hot relaxing bath before bed. I'm gonna be out for the count as soon as my head hits the pillow...I can almost see it now. LOL!
And on that note.... enjoy your evening & see you tomorrow.
I'd like to enjoy one of those "orange kisses" Donna. How do you make one?
Thanks for the Christmas card Bruce! That was really cute. Kinda reminds me of us (only as reindeer) at the North Pole with Santa. LOL! Only 1 weekend left on the Polar Express. WOOHOO!
You'll have to come down one of these days (now that your truck is serviced) & I'll make an Orange Kiss for you.
Have you ever tried a "Lemon Drop?" It's made kinda like that, but only in an Orange version.

Thanks for adding your name to your signature Ken (Jakebrake). I agree...it's nice to be able to put a name with the person your talking to. Maybe one of these days, we can all do a GTG in Nevada & actually put a face to the name!
It's nice to meet your Ken.
