Just went and looked at that ground wire by the A/C box went from a/c box to somewhere on the back of the moter I couldnt tell where its getting dark so I couldnt see where it went
I will crawl under thewre tommorro and see where it goes Im thinking if you have it going to the block that might be where it goes
But will check it out If I can find my flashlight I will go check it out and report back
Wow Thanks a ton blade! I have a feeling it goes to the block but not sure. I have searched and searched for a missing plug or ground and cant find one. I am thinking about tearing into the passenger side valve cover and if I dont see anything diving into the hpop. When I did everything I was very carefull to plug all the holes with shop towels. I am starting to think what if I forgot to take one out or not all of one came out. I would think that part of a shop towel would keep the truck from getting hpo. I remember having one in the turbo drain hole in the hpop cover and I remember removing it. I just cant be sure that I dident forget something else. I have tomorrow saturday and sunday to get it running. If I cant then I gotta take my girlfiends mercedes bow hunting again. I just dont know if I can take a Mercedes into elk camp again. I WILL CRY lol.
Well found a flashlight and found that little bugger But Ill do you one BETTER I took a bunch of pics this summer when I did my EGR Deleate and oil cooler and I just so happened to get a pic of that ground strap location the red arrow is pointing right at it you can even see the connector around the end of the ground strap
ok Thank you. So its grounded to the same thing just different location. I dont imagine this affects anything its just a ground from the head to the firewall?
Your right I dont see it being a problem being hooked to a diffrent spot on the moter. Even if it wasnt hooked up I dont see it really being an issue either..
I had the same thoughts about the rags still being in there when I did mine. But I told myself if I left a rag in there somewhere It would have been very difficult to bolt it up and get things to line up.
Make shure all the FICM plugs are fulley plugged in and no bent pins
yeah it was still there now I have the valve cover off and the drivers side torn apart to get to it. I am still pondering on what to do tomorrow morning. I was thinking about disconnecting the flex oil rail line from the stand pipes then using my old stand pipes connecting them to the flex line that goes into the oil rail then using the threads that are on the end of that to adapt to my compressor and test each set of injectors. Dunno if this would work but maybe? I just read a little about people thinking their branch tubes were broken from removing the head. I dont see this being possible it looks to me like the stand pipes screw right into the block. Now im worried about my branch tubes. Maybe I dont have any since I dont have an stc fitting? Ill double check the ficm plugs in the morning.
Is that the ref voltage on the icp? I dident I already had the valve cover off when I read the earlier post so now I can put it all back and check the ref voltage or dig deeper in the motor what do you guys think?
Vref sensors:
EBP, ICP, MAP, BARO, APP, EGR and maybe IAT2 (probably some more, just can't recall). A Vref short can give you electrical codes on all of these or a combination of them. The scangaugeII can read the voltage IIRC. VRef should be a constant 5V. Your codes all indicate an electrical short IMO.

Yes, Mark, SGII can read that voltage.I have never seen an issue with this. Mine has read no lower than 4.95.
Ok Ill start getting it back together and figuring out how to work my guage better. It looks like my block heater is all messed up any chance this could be causing problems?
