oh its oil its a half a quart on my shop floor. I replaced it with a used one. I took it apart cause it looked bad and I cleaned it all out and put it back together. This turbo was supose to get me by until I could buy a powermax cause my old one broke in half. But maybe I need to get a powermax sooner than later.

where did you get it Junk Yard

you could rebuild it and you can get parts for the insides of it sounds like that main seal inside is bad

Was the original turbo the one that broke inhalf opps you said that

how far did you pull it apart Hot side only or all of it

yeah I took the unison ring out and vains out and cleaned them all up and took the piston out and I worked the crank back and forth for like 2 hours cause it was all gummed up inside. So I had to keep spraying penetrating oil in it and solvents to get it to move a little more free. I got it off ebay

I have found a rebuild service I am going to use. Electro diesel out of texas will rebuild it for $375 Its a full rebuild completely disassembled with a complete rebuild kit bead blasted, bead blasted, rebalanced, veins are resurfaced, It sounds like I will basically have a new turbo and comes with a warranty. I just cant afford a new powermax and finish the hunting season they say they have a 1-2 day turn around

Nice photos, thanks for showing those parts. When I was looking at them yesterday, I was surprised to see the breaks looked almost identical.
