Will Aftermarket Valve Covers & Roller Rockers meant for a 390, fit on a 360?

I'm trying to fnid aftermarket valve covers and a Set of Roller Rockers for my 68 ford that has a 360 in it, the only problem is that all of the sets i find only list a 390 motor! I was wondering if the roller rockers and valve covers meant for a 390 will fit on a 360 motor...

Thanks in advanced,
Corey

Yes. I am assuming you are building up the 360, hence the desire for roller rockers. If not doing a buildup the rockers will not do much for performance or reliability.

Yes, i am building up the 360, well it already is mostly built up. Bored and stroked, Balanced and Blueprinted, Carb, manifold, cam.. the whole sheebang! But i curretly have th top end tooken apart as i have a bad exhaust valve and am rebuilding the heads..

And the 390 parts will forsure fit the 360?

360/390 used the same heads. Therefore, they use the same valve covers and rockers.

I just did the 360 - 390 conversion. I used everything from the 360, except for the 390 crank, rods and pistons.

Will valve covers made for a 351 fit the 360?

I found this set of valve covers
Proform Parts 302-001 - Proform Ford Racing Licensed Aluminum Valve Covers - Overview - SummitRacing.com

or this pair

http://www.summitracing.com/parts/FMS-M-6582-A342R/

or

this pair

http://www.summitracing.com/parts/FMS-M-6582-Z351/

and am really liking them both, would either work?

But it does not say they are made for the 360 or the 390.
It does however list the 351, I heard somewhere the 351 is a detuned 360? Is this true and if so would valve covers made for the 351 fit my 360?

No, a 351 is a different animal. The 352, 360 and 390 all are externally identical. The only difference between a 360 and 390 is the stroke. A 360 uses a 352 crank in a block with the same bore as a 390.
All head components will swap between a 352, 360 and 390.

All the valve covers in this list will fit:

I found this set of heads

Edelbrock 4162 - Edelbrock Classic Cast Aluminum Valve Covers - Overview - SummitRacing.com

they say they are made for a 360 but the yea perimeters is 73 to 77, my truck is a 68. Was there any change in head manufacturing between these years that would affect the usage of these valve covers?

'just thought I'd share this with yall.

Earlier this year I figured I'd rehab some spare FE valve covers (from a 360) to put on my 73FE (a 390). I stripped, painted, and primed them but when it came to install 'em they didn't fit!!!

The clean passenger side valve cover wouldn't sit on the head. I turned over the crudded (and still installed to this day) valve cover and saw that a PO had cut away part of the PVC shield so it would clear the valve springs and rockers. The arrow in the pic below is pointing to the offending part on the rehabbed cover.

In disgust, the clean valve covers are sitting on the shelf for another day which has not yet arrived. Does anyone have an idea why an FE valve cover won't fit on my FE if they're supposed to be swappable? Any input/theories are appreciated to clear up this mystery.

Also have a 68 f250

I also have a 68 f250. I have these same valve covers (Edelbrock 4162) that just arrived in the mail but wondering if they’ll actually clear the brake booster?

The standard height covers will fit all the heads that use the shaft rocker assy. The tall ones are for the mid/tall heads with adjustable rockers on individual studs. For the tall ones clearing the booster. I have a 8" dual diaphragm booster, it's close but does work. Not sure about the factory booster.
