I have a 70 Series on my 5.8, 3inch in 3 inch out single with the front cat deleted, rear cat in place. Dumps in front of the rear passenger tire. Its a little louder than I expected it to be, but I don't like loud motors unless they're seriously built. This is a little louder than stock, but not a whole lot, and I like it.
On another note, I did drive around with the exhaust cut just after the rear cat, front cat deleted, for about a week, and thought it was way too loud. I was out snowboarding at a street spot one night in St. Paul, got kicked out by the cops at about 1am, and had to drive right past them with no muffler, they didn't say anything about it (though I was very easy on the throttle).
Flowmaster 50's, 3" pipe, and all mandrel bends. Routed out BEHIND the rear tires with NO cackle and NO drone on a crewcab longbed. The key is the mandrel bends and mount the muffs as far back as you can. Also, keep in mind if you do turnouts on the muffs and dump it under the bed, all the sound is going to get bounced back off the pavement back up against the bed. At highway speeds it will drone you to death.
I run dual super 44s with an H pipe with no drone....they have a nice old school rumble at low rpms , great at WOT , no snap , crakle , pop ......just mean....Lew
I cut my tailpipe off and just dumped after my super 44 and it just got a bit louder. I still don't hbe drone at highway speeds. Maybe a little around 60km but that's fine with me
