Yes it's for real. Please go slap someone. It's a god awful time doing an oil change on the thing.

I have the rest of the week "off" from work, we had our 3rd child yesterday morning. A little boy we named him Wyatt. Mom and baby are doing great!
Now to figure out how to pay for it all.....
I had hoped that I would have had some time to work on my trucks this week... that has not happened, no wonder She is tired all the time when I come home from work, these kids keep you running!!
i officially hate chevys even more.... today at work i had to do an oil change and check up on a chevy trailblazer.... OMG! i dont think i ever too so long to go over a vehicle.. to drain the oil i had to take a plate off that covord the drain plug... and JUST the drain plug.. the air filter is tied down with Torx screwdrivers and snapped at the bottom.... for a normal 30min to 1 hour job... i finished with aqlmost 2 hours spent on it. i hate chevys...
I hear you on this, my Wife's Envoy has the same setup, it is not usually too bad after you spill oil allover the first time you do it, you figure out how to do it faster. I had to grab the filter through the wheel well to spin it off, then spin it off completely with a ratchet filter adapter. The first time takes the longest, now I am down to about 20 minutes for a full service. I use a set of ramps to get it off the ground as doesn't have enough ground clearance for my belly....

Those are legitimate thoughts. But trust me thats an oil filter. That image is actually a google image since I don't have a picture of it. My dad has the truck now. But you can look it up. It's a 4.0l V6. Mine was a 2005 but I think they still offer the motor in the newer model tundras too.
Zach doesn't suprize me? The first generation s-10 & s-blazer with 4X4 you could not access the filter at all! We actually used to have customers take them to a body shop & have an access panel cut into the inner fender well it was either that or like Snowbunny said pull the engine! GM design by committee at it's best! Or how abought the starter on the NORTHSTAR in Cadillac, it's enclosed in the valley under the intake manifold!...

I love free stuff! The priority mail boxes are free (plus shipping) fuel lines from an FTE member, the Riffraff box is a free coffee mug, and the shirt is from Thoroughbred Diesel from a Facebook contest! :-x22
congradulations to everyone! seems like there are a few people today that have been quite the busy bird. enjoyed my day off till my little sister brought 4 of her friends over, my dad got home and my brother begging me to pick him up from school... fun 8 hours to myself though
ALSO! question... i have 2 questions really
my brakes have been acting really funny lately. when im istting at a light the pedal starts to creep its way to the floor. but its VERY slow and you have to really concentrate on it to feel it. but its eases its way down and then my truck inches forward. i dont have power brakes, so no brake booster. and i bleed and adjusted all the brakes. and clues???
secondly... also when im sittin at a light. when i dont have the choke pulled out and im in drive, its seems as though my truck starts to die. its spits and sputters then dies.. its works fien when i pull the choke out a little though. but when im in park or neutral it does fine. looked at the sparkplugs and there fine, and the timing is on spot. maybe the points??
Zach I'd be looking at carb before points when you pull that choke out your richening the mixture or adding fuel ^so you may have something misadjusted mixture wse, as for your brakes look at your m/c first it's probably just bypassing the cups. Have you noticed any leaks or is the level staying ok?
i didnt notice any leaks when me and my dad bleed the brakes. but when we got to the driver side front brake it was stiff to press down and then whe it finally did press down you can hear a hissing noise. ive been checking and i havent lost fluid. i just dont hink pressure is going where it needs to.
and the carb is brand new, only a year old. and the one vaccuum line that comes out of the back i replaced as well.
and by fuel pressure you mean how much gas i have? or how much going through the carb?

I am not familiar with carbureted systems so forgive any ignorance.
I mean from the fuel pump. If its mechanical could it be straining under low idle? Or if its electrical maybe your alternator is going bad and the fuel pump is straining until the RPMs get up and produce more power.
hmm.. could be? cause i just replaced my fuel pump also. and its the one where the arm reaches into the cam and everytime the cam spins and hits the arm it shoots in gas. i wouldnt the first clue to check for what that problem is...
and dont feel that way trey your helpin, thats all that matters
