With the in-line BP it's REALLY easy now. The worst part is cleaning the SOB after shooting...even just one shot.
Attached was taken last Fall while we were sighting everything in...buddy's high speed cam @ 8 frames/second:
very nice - yea i'm good w/ centerfire and rimfire but haven't shot blackpowder in years - and as to hunting only ever done one guided pheasant hunt - suprisingly difficult to learn solo lol
I'm enjoying BP. Took my first BP deer last season in New Jersey with my father-in-law. Big Doe netted almost 60lbs of butchered, clean, meat.
This BP was handed down to me...the breach plug and primer cap are exposed thus the reason for that little bit of blow back you see covering my face. That's the only dislike I have with this current setup.
very nice never the less, i've been considering going w/ a flintlock personally as it is more historically accurate and one of my focus' is weapons history but we'll see what happens since it prolly going to boil down to what i can afford lol
60 lbs of meat eh? very nice and imo venison is one of the best tasting meats you can get
I love some venison...the wife however does NOT. Her father is and has been an avid hunter since before she was born and the woman will NOT touch the stuff. My Aussie Cattle / hound mix happens to enjoy the hell outta the stuff. He's on me like white on rice when I'm cooking it.
