older and fat in my case - the extra bulk sure doesn't help make it easier to deal w/ the heat but i've always liked winter

I am a bit bigger myself. Pushing 200, mainly because I gave up smoking a little over 21 years ago.

gratz bud i really need to quit my self - although tbh i need to quit feeding my face while being sedentary - nice thing about having a boy who is getting old enough to do outdoor stuff and enjoy it along w/ a truck - helping to motivate me to be more active. But between school and everything else it just seems like there's never enough time in the days ya know

I know what you mean. I had three teenagers at one time. That kept me busy. Got into caving. then kayaking and camping.. Now like to do a bit of Cowboy action shooting, when I get a day off .

i hearya i got hooked on SASS when my first marriage was on the rocks - always liked camping but i'm looking forward to next year when my son can join cub scouts. Being in a relatively rural area it should be a good time instead of the PC crap that resulted in my leaving the boyscouts when my family moved to the DC metro area. I'm also looking forward to introducing him to shooting since he is just barely big enough for his rifle but the maturity isn't there yet so i'll just keep drilling him on good safety habits and familiarity so that when he is mature enough to be trusted at the range he'll know his rifle inside and out.

I switched to NCOWS. It is a bit more rigid on clothing but have smaller shoots which I enjoy.

true enough - i've thought about getting back into it out here in va (i used to do the sass in cali) but i just don't have the time or money for ammo to invest in the sport these days - it's all i can do just to keep up w/ day to day life and stay competent w/ my carry weapon
