I just learned that a Ventura PD officer appears to have committed suicide this morning while on-duty. Dispatch lost contact with him around 1:30am causing a man hunt for him. He was later found in the back yard of a family members home, with what seemed to be a self inflicted wound. A full autopsy is scheduled for Monday morning. The officer was 27-years old, and a 4-year veteran. His name hasn't been released yet. I'm concerned because I know many of the officers. Especially in his beat which is my end of town.

I thought most modern P.D.s had programs in place to spot officers in psychological trouble.

Hello everybody. Yeah today has been rough. I got a call from a lady this afternoon. I worked on her car 3 months ago and today it caught fire. I did the transmission then and other maintenance. Luckily for me it turned out to be a ps line that ruptured. I checked it and drove the car home for her.
So glad it wasn't the transmission...
