MAF sensor

Can MAF sensors just stop working? P0102
I cleaned the MAF and replaced the air filter.
I will look for leaks after the MAF and check electrical connections as
soon as possible.
The only thing is I do not have "wire piercing probes" for my multimeter,
and getting to the MAF connections in the housing looks tough.
Any suggestions to testing? I do not want to replace MAF unless I have to.

maf testing
I was just looking into this on my 00 Exp. and came across this website for testing the maf on our trucks. Hope it helps.

I usually use T-pins and slide them into the connections. T-pins being sewing style pins that have the T shaped end. Of course, you have to be careful not to peirce the wires or allow the ends to touch one another if you have more than one pushed in. I have used them several times with no problems. I use an old film canister with holes on the top to store them. Saves having to get the wire peircing probes.
