that is very odd.... maybe you bumped the wire on the FSS when you were doing the injectors and didn't notice it.... and it vibrated a bit and lost contact when you shut it off at your destination... i know when mine shuts down it has to put a jolt on the engine (high compression engine quick shutoffs) then when you roll started it it shook a bit again and came back in contact and hasn't moved again yet..... crazy sounding but could have happened...... never know just pitching ideas
Sounds like a standard internally-leaking IP to me. I had one. New injectors break down a tired IP, and some seals internally won't hold pressure with hot fuel. But with cold fuel(thicker), everything fires right up. I dealt with that for a long time before I got a new IP. Runs fine like you said but then won't start after an hour... that was my problem. It's usually coupled with an air intrusion problem, as the air being let in allows the fuel to flow out the return line back to the tank, and you'll have air in the IP and not fuel.
I hope that's not it, as buying a new IP costs some bucks and it's annoying. But based on my experience those are my thoughts.
they are considerably more expensive than uhaul.... but about the only option left..... you could call st joe diesel and see how much they charge to rebuild your current pump but when i called them a year or so ago they wanted more than 500 dollars.... wouldn't be able to justify waiting on a rebuild when i could just order another pump through the parts house for a little cheaper.... i got mine through uhaul when they were on sale back last winter though
Ok got home from work played with truck would not act up let it run in drive way for thirty minutes still no problem . drove to town got ready to leave would not start unpluged fss pluged back in fired wright up

Sounds possibly like a bad FSS. I know those can be replaced separately for much less than an IP costs.
