I was wondering if any of you guys have installed a remote start. I have tried searching the forums but can't come up with how this might work. Any ideas?
I don't have one, but there are a lot of guys/gals here that does...try any good stereo shop, they should have them..I know that there is a delay in them for diesels for the glow plugs
I have been using Code Alarm , Love it in sub freezing weather. The best thing is the warranty. Or the shop that put it in Cartunes. It failed after three years and they replaced all of it at no charge
I wanted and alarm and engine immobilizer because of the many thefts of and from F series here. Also had the remote start with a Ford aftermarket installation some 6 years ago. Has worked well so far.
I have a Viper 560XV, with extended antennae. It was built for diesel with a built in start delay timer to allow for glow plug heater timing. It has all the bell and whistles including a seperate low DB alarm horn to acknowledge when you hit a function button on the fob.
I have a Python on my 350. It was in the truck when i bought it, so I can't help out on the install part. It works great though. I was leery of using one on a diesel, but it surprised me.
