Question Remote Start

Anyone ever used a remote start kit on a PS Diesel? I was thinking of having one installed for the winter season and wondering how well they worked with Diesels. What is a good brand to buy?

Thumbs up Remote Start

Hey snoskier,
I have a remote start and it works great. I have a 2003 6.0 f-250. The remote start is hooked up with a Clifford Solaris alarm. Great alarm. It was weird at first because it does not start right away. It has about a 10-second delay because of the glow plug. All in all I love the feature.

Remote Start

As part of 'the deal' the dealer installed a Ford Gold remote for me and I LOVE it !!!
Heck with winter time...
what about the Texas heat !?!
Only problem is that my fuel mileage dropped a lot cause I liked the cool Ex when I got in it...

I have an '04 F-250 w/ the PSD and have an AutoPage keyless/remote start system and could not be happier! Great for cold or hot days! Also good for keeping it running to cool the turbo after gettin all up on it for awhile without having to have the keys in it. Prices vary among different systems, mine was $299.

I bought the Ford alarm upgrade with the remote starter. it works great and has a 30 second delay. My dealer said that the long delay is just in case the temp is really cold and the glow plugs take longer to warm up.

If your moniker is an indication, you will need it in the winter. I guess I will have to learn to type slower.
